UUSC Oxen Project

A hand-carved ornament will be sent to you as a symbol of your contribution to the Oxen Project.

Everyone can identify with the strong desire to go home.

UUSC invites you to help families in Northern Uganda to return home and resettle after years of living as internally displaced persons in camps. You can do this by purchasing "shares" of a team of oxen and a plough on behalf of your loved ones.

In return for your pledge of support, you or your gift recipient will receive a hand-carved, wooden oxen ornament symbolizing your commitment to strengthening families and community building. Each carved figurine come with a hang-tag and note explaining the effects your gift will have. Gift recipients will receive a personalized card noting that you made the donation in their name.

Your $35 is distributed as follows: $3 returns to our partner Rock Women Group for the ornament carved by Kenyan youth, $2 goes to administration costs (supplies), and $30 goes directly toward the purchase of oxen with Caritas. Cost for shipping the ornament to your intended gift recipient is additional and calculated at check-out.

If you or your congregation would like to purchase a pair of oxen for $500, or a team of Oxen for $1000, please e-mail us at orders@uusc.org.
