What you can do to learn more about defending civil liberties

Join UUSC for
Freedom Summer: A Civil Rights Journey.

Use UUSC’s
Small Group Ministry materials to discuss civil liberties in your congregation.

Connect with a UUSC program partner based in the United States to advance the work of protecting civil liberties. For example:

  • UUSC members and supporters, and UU congregations interested in legal issues, due process of law, and justice for Muslim Americans can work with UUSC partner Muslim Advocates.
  • Those interested in “building bridges of understanding” between UUs and Muslim American communities can coordinate with UUSC’s program partner, Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation.
  • UUSC members and UU congregations that want to deepen their understanding about the War in Iraq, the Global War on Terror, Freedom of Speech, and the right to dissent can reach out to UUSC partners Appeal for Redress and Veterans for Peace.
  • Through the work of our program partner Hands Across Mideast Support Alliance (HAMSA), UUSC members and congregations can facilitate understanding and cooperation with UU, Muslim, and Muslim American youth.
