Raise your voice for 100 Hours of Conscience
campaign to end genocide in Darfur

Please join the Save Darfur Coalition in its call for 100 Hours of Conscience – Voices to End the Genocide in Darfur. Over four days on March 17, 18, 19, and 20, Save Darfur is encouraging and supporting events to educate people about the ongoing violence in the Darfur region of Sudan and provide them with the tools they need to take action. For more information, please visit Save Darfur.

You can host a letter writing event in your congregation. You and your congregation also may use our online Legislative Action Center to write to your members of Congress.

Use the following talking points:

  • As a United States citizen, I am horrified at the atrocities taking place in Darfur under the world's watchful eyes.

  • I am appalled at the conditions people are forced to live in. The lack of adequate shelter, food and water is leaving small children to become ill and die.

  •  I call on President Bush to provide leadership and take immediate action to stop the killing, rape and destruction of villages.

  • I call on the U.S. to ensure humanitarian relief reaches all those in need.

  • I call on the U.S. to withhold its veto power at the United Nations Security Council and refer crimes against humanity to the International Criminal Court in order to quickly hold responsible those accountable.

If you participate in these events, please let us know by copying your letter and mailing it to UUSC, C/O Nadya Khalife, 130 Prospect Street, Cambridge MA 02139 or by e-mailing nkhalife@uusc.org.

For an even stronger message, watch Hotel Rwanda in theaters and save your ticket stub. Write "Not on my watch" on the back of the stub and mail it to along with your letter.
