Public Policy
Pressing for U.S. public policies which
advance human rights is a critical part of the work done by the
Unitarian Universalist Service Committee. We ensure that the voices of
our members, partners, and staff are being heard in the halls of
Congress and by the executive branch on a number of issues. We mobilize
our members and supporters to contact their elected officials on the
national, state, and local level to bring about public policy change
with local and global reach.
We also work with colleague agencies to strengthen our voice for human
rights by demonstrating a unified position on major public policy
issues. This collaborative approach enables us to multiply the impact
our positions have on key legislators or top executive branch officials.
