STOP Campaign - Stop Torture Permanently

Events at Abu Ghraib prison, Guantanamo Bay and in Afghanistan have shone a disturbing light on U.S. use of torture as an interrogation technique. At the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, we're committed to bringing an immediate halt to such activities and ensuring they never happen again.

Our STOP (Stop Torture Permanently) Campaign – led by Jennifer Harbury, an American lawyer whose own husband was tortured and murdered in Guatemala in the early 1990s – will work with other like-minded groups to bring effective legislative and legal action in Washington, D.C., to effectively halt U.S.-sanctioned torture anywhere in the world.

Your support will help ensure adequate funding to pursue this very important work. Our recent advertisement on the op-ed page of the New York Times is an example of how we hope to bring light, clarity and change to this area so often shrouded and protected by darkness and ignorance.
Download a PDF of the ad or read our action alert, Congress must oppose U.S.-sanctioned torture.

Please take a stand to end torture. Sign on to UUSC's STOP Campaign and show your concern by making as large a donation as you can.
