What We Do
Through a potent combination of advocacy, education, and partnerships with grassroots organizations, UUSC supports programs and policies that promote workers' rights, advance the human right to water, defend civil liberties, and preserve the rights of those affected by humanitarian crises.
Focus Areas
UUSC focuses on four major program areas to carry out our efforts to advance human rights and social justice. We work in partnership with local grassroots organizations in the United States and around the world, standing with these communities as they confront unjust power structures and challenge oppressive policies. In each program area, we focus especially on issues of race, class, and gender and their roles in perpetuating injustice and human rights abuses.

Campaigns
Through targeted advocacy campaigns, UUSC bolsters the work it does with grassroots organizations by addressing systemic policy issues at the highest level. UUSC's campaigns aim to organize people on the ground to create long-term change around targeted issues.

Public Policy
Pressing for U.S. public policies that advance human rights is a critical part of the work done by the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee. We ensure that the voices of our members, partners, and staff are being heard in the halls of Congress and by the executive branch on a number of issues. We mobilize our members and supporters to contact their elected officials on the national, state, and local level to bring about public policy change with local and global reach.
