Wherever you are, you can advance climate justice this weekend and throughout the year. Timed to coincide with the United Nations Climate Summit, there will be a mass mobilization in the coming days in support of climate justice. Here’s how you can participate:

On social media:

Follow #commit2respond on Twitter and Facebook, and contribute to the public conversation about advancing climate justice. If you are looking for a message to share, tweet the following or post it on other social media channels:

“Climate justice can’t wait. Take action. Sign up for #commit2respond today: www.commit2respond.org.“

If you are in the New York City area (or can reach New York via sustainable modes of transportation):

Participate in the People’s Climate March this Sunday, September 21. This may be the largest climate march in history, with an estimated one million people gathering in New York City.

To join with UUSC supporters and members of faith communities at the march, please gather with us on 58th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues. Look for UU banners and signs and yellow Standing on the Side of Love T-shirts. An interfaith worship service will take place 11:00–11:30 a.m., followed by a ritual and worship activity for UUs. If you are not attending events in New York City:

Be part of a demonstration, an educational activity, a letter-writing event, or any other gathering calling upon the U.S. government to do its part in international negotiations to secure an ambitious, binding, and just climate treaty next year. If you are using social media at these events, please include the #commit2respond hashtag to be part of the larger conversation among UUSC supporters and other Unitarian Universalist organizations working on climate justice.
