Join the Movement: Support the ICJ Climate Justice Initiative

Pacific Islands Students Fighting Climate Change

More than a year ago, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) voted in support of requiring the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to release comprehensive guidance on the issue of climate change. This opinion would go a long way in helping nations across the world determine critical and sustainable strategies to address the climate crisis.

While the Biden administration has shown a commitment to addressing environmental and climate harms, it has not been supportive of the UNGA’s decision to seek an opinion from the ICJ, preferring to address the climate crisis through diplomatic avenues.

Today, we are asking that the administration submit a brief outlining its support of the advisory opinion and demonstrate its commitment to working collectively across borders to address the climate crisis.

Learn more about the advisory opinion and how you can have an impact here.
